Zanj Explorer was launched in 1998 with the focus on offering affordable ocean experiences to those who enjoy exploring and adventure with a “hands on” approach. After four years of chartering experience in and around Cape Town we sailed to Durban and for two years ran both surfing and diving expeditions along the east coast including Mozambique.
Towards the end of 2003 we joined up with the internationally renowned archeological research company “Arquanautas Worldwide” (www.arq.de) and have been involved in the survey and excavation of historical shipwrecks along the coastline of Mozambique for three years. In 2007 Zanj went in search of the perfect wave and discovered surf paradise in the south of Madagascar. This year we plan to return and enjoy all those waves and possibly find something new...
